Job Description:    Senior Financial Analyst – FP&A
Business Unit:  Accounting - Finance

 

This role will be a key asset in the future growth of the company. The Senior Financial Analyst – FP&A role will be an integral role whose main responsibilities will be spear-heading the Company’s financial quarterly forecast, annual budgeting process, operating plan variance analysis and special projects. S/he will provide financial consulting and strategic support to senior management including preparing board presentations, financial presentations, capital expenditure analysis, industry/peer group comparisons, new business opportunities, acquisition analysis and other projects requested by senior management. This function acts as the analytical engine of the company to provide insights and support ‘optimal’ business decision making.  The position reports to the Manager of Financial Planning & Analysis. 

 

Position Responsibilities:

  • Analyze current and past trends in key performance indicators including all areas of revenue, cost of sales, expenses and capital expenditures
  • Monitor performance indicators, highlighting trends and analyzing causes of unexpected variance
  • Oversee and manage the continued development of Budgeting, Financial Forecasting, Operating Plan and Modeling tools
  • Ad-Hoc Reporting and Analysis
  • Quarterly and Monthly Financial reports
  • Implement and work with a Business Intelligence Tool and Dashboard reports
  • Improve performance by evaluating processes to drive efficiencies and understand ROI in marketing programs, menu pricing, new store rollouts as well as new projects
  • Develop financial models and analyses to support strategic initiatives
  • Analyze complex financial information and reports to provide accurate and timely financial recommendations to management for decision making purposes
  • Supporting Senior Management Team and Departments heads with in-depth analysis
  • Prepare presentations to Board of Directors and Senior Management Team
  • Lead special financial and business-related studies and cooperates with other departments in preparing analyses
  • Assist with compilation and analysis of consolidated budgets and long-range plans
  • Analyze prospective mergers and acquisitions
  • Maintains and coordinates group completion of financial review templates and meetings.
  • Performs other duties as required


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance; MBA highly preferred
  • 5+ years of financial planning and analysis experience
  • Strong leadership skills required. 
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint skills.
  • Highest standards of accuracy and precision; highly organized
  • Articulate with excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to think creatively, highly-driven and self-motivated


Requirements:

  • Typically requires five years relevant experience. 
  • Must be able to make decisions and solve problems that are general in nature and for which there are precedents.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. 
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills. 
  • Ability to work independently and as a team member with excellent interpersonal skills. 
  • Excellent time management skills.
  • High level of proficiency with Microsoft Excel and comfortable working within numerous systems
  • Ability to occasionally work extra hours to meet deadlines
  • Candidate must be at least 21 years of age and able to successfully complete a Level 2 background screening

Salary will be commensurate with experience.   A comprehensive benefits package including paid time off is offered with this position. This position will work an average of 40 hours per week and will be available “after hours” if an emergency situation should arise.
