ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES

PAX is seeking a highly motivated Head of Field Sales, Massachusetts who will be the lead for how the PAX platform is presented in Massachusetts and will be accountable for growing the PAX platform in the state. This role will help shape and manage the direction of our Massachusetts sales team.

The ideal candidate has cannabis experience directing a sales team, managing to performance targets, and building distribution. The candidate will have a deep knowledge of the Massachusetts cannabis market and close relationships with a wide network of retailers.

About you… you love being in the field, meeting with retailers and consumers, digging into data to identify opportunities, and coaching/mentoring team members. You love people and motivating a field sales and marketing team to achieve their commercial targets and goals.

Responsibilities include

Sales

  • Help set targets, objectives and performance metrics for Massachusetts  
  • Guide and motivate the field sales team to execute on goals, objectives and metrics
  • Own the development and implementation of sales programs that will attract new key accounts and enhance sales to current customers 

Management

  • Provide leadership to a team responsible for selling the company’s products and services, developing new accounts and/or expanding existing accounts across regional market
  • Manage all Field Sales Managers to meet regional sales goals 
  • Dotted line management of Field Marketing manager to meet regional sales goals 
  • Build and develop a “best-in-class” field sales team. In this capacity the Head of Field Sales will serve as a player/coach who leads and inspires others by their actions and engagement
  • Cross-functional engagement with Commercial Strategy, Brand Marketing, Trade Marketing, and Product to drive products, programs, and campaigns that align with your region’s needs 

QUALIFICATIONS

  • 6+ years of sales experience 
  • 2+ years of people management experience
  • Deep knowledge of the Massachusetts cannabis industry and the retail landscape
  • Proven success hiring and training sales teams
  • Experience in fast-cycle businesses with complex product lines and a heavy technology innovation component
  • Prior success in impacting the top and bottom line through creating successful sales strategies
  • A proven track record of opportunity identification, problem-solving and taking initiative
  • Proven ability to be successful in a less traditional or less hierarchical environment
  • Regardless of career path, the successful candidate must have a track record of driving change

COMPENSATION

In addition to the benefits above, this role has a base pay of $100k, a variable compensation component, + equity. Our Field Sales team also receives a car and communications stipend and gas reimbursement.

This pay range represents what we believe, in good faith, this role will pay. The final pay will depend on many factors, including years and depth of experience, level, and location of the employee. We only expect to pay the top of the range in rare and exceptional circumstances, for candidates that far exceed the requirements and expectations of the position.
