Job Summary

The Director of Engineering & Continuous Improvement will manage multiple Engineering and Continuous improvement projects associated with the efficiency, improved maintenance, and expansion of the company production facility along with the company’s dispensary operations.  

Duties and Responsibilities

·       Works on continuous improvement of the quality, cost and delivery across all facilities

·       Provide technical support to production during runs. Assist production in usage decisions on production material.

·       Troubleshoot product issues on production lines.

·       Investigate and resolve material issues.

·        Implement programs to improve quality and performance.

·       Utilize Six Sigma methodology where appropriate.

·        Monitor production performance and act proactively to correct trends or changes in product performance versus specifications.

·       Track and manage critical independent variables to assure high yield.

·        Work on projects to improve yield, quality, reduce cost and improve production uptime.

·       Lead quality investigations from customer complaints or defects. • Technical link between Business and Process Engineer.

·       Develop a data based understanding of how the formulation and process elements affect product performance at the customer.

·       Use that understanding to continuously improve the production process. 

Qualifications

·       Prior knowledge and practical experience in a manufacturing/industrial setting with a strong focus in Lean Manufacturing operations

·       Must have demonstrated Lean/Continuous Improvement project management experience and knowledge of lead manufacturing

·       In-depth knowledge of national and state standards of quality.

·       Must possess project management skills to effectively define, implement and co-ordinate projects to completion

Education

·       Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineer, Process Automation

Experience

·       8 to 10 years of professional experience

·       3+ years successful lean implementation experience with a proven record of sustainable results
