What You’ll Do:

We are seeking an experienced and innovative Retail Marketing Manager for the Illinois market with a proven track record of success in marketing and who possesses a strong knowledge base of the cannabis, CPG, and retail industries. You will be responsible for driving increased foot traffic and customer acquisition at our retail locations through the development and execution of strategic marketing initiatives. This role will focus on the development and execution of events, competitive analysis, hyper-local marketing plans, measurement, ROI, and forming local partnerships. The Retail Marketing Manager will work closely with our marketing teams and cross-functional partners to ensure seamless execution and alignment with company objectives.  

  • Develop and execute hyper-local, cross-channel marketing plans, including in-store promotions, local events, and partnerships, to drive foot traffic and customer acquisition at our retail locations.
  • Conduct regular competitive analysis to identify market trends, strengths, and weaknesses and develop strategies to capitalize on opportunities and address challenges.
  • Design and implement engaging in-store events that attract new customers and strengthen relationships with existing customers.
  • Measure and analyze the effectiveness of marketing initiatives, providing regular reports on ROI and key performance metrics to optimize future campaigns.
  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with local businesses and community organizations to identify and pursue partnership opportunities that drive mutual value and increased visibility for our brand.
  • Work closely with store management teams to ensure marketing initiatives align with local market dynamics.
  • Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders, including vendors and suppliers, to ensure the timely and effective execution of marketing initiatives.
  • Stay current on industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies to maintain a competitive edge in retail marketing.
  • Inform creative briefs for email and text
  • Identify content and creative needs for state and dispensary marketing, works with an internal creative services agency for the creation.
  • Execute a consistent brand image and tone for Curaleaf throughout all marketing and communication channels.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional partners to develop a strategic promotional calendar around events, new products, new store openings, and seasonal moments. Effectively maintain deployment and execution through marketing channels, dispensaries, and community outreach. 
  • Adhere to company branding guidelines and ensure voice and brand consistency across all marketing material. 
  • The position will be based in Chicago, IL

 Who You Are:

  • Bachelor's degree in marketing, business administration, communications, or a related field.
  • A minimum of 6-8 years of experience in retail marketing, preferably in a management role.
  • Outstanding verbal and written communication skills. You love interacting with people and thrive in cross-functional team environments. 
  • Exceptional project management skills.
  • Possess a unique combination of strategic thinking and a hands-on approach to execution. Both are equally important for success in this role.
  • Proven track record of developing and executing successful marketing strategies to drive foot traffic and customer acquisition for rapid growth.
  • Strong understanding of local marketing tactics, including events, promotions, and partnerships.
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze market trends, conduct competitive analysis, and develop actionable insights.
  • Proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite software is a plus.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint software.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, collaborative environment and adapt to changing priorities.

  • Be willing to work night and weekend hours as required.
