The Retail Channel Manager will lead the development and execution of flawless in-store experience strategies across all channels and retailers.  With a sharp customer-centric mindset, this critical role will be responsible for working alongside the Territory Sales Manager to drive revenue and maintain relationships with key dispensary partners across the market. Striving for excellence in execution by creating strong in-store and omni-channel brand presence and merchandising executions, the Retail Channel Manager, plays a critical role in driving purchase and improving retail performance. Other responsibilities include, but are not limited to, leading budtender education, developing creative ways to engage with consumers both at retail and in the community, leading brand ambassador team, performing business & competitive analysis, adhering to budget, and preparing market presentations as needed. The ideal candidate is a self-starter and entrepreneurial thinker who can influence cross-functional teams, retailers and brand partners. This role requires regional travel and 60% of time will be spent in dispensaries and in the field.  The position reports directly to the Director of Field Marketing.

DUTIES:

  • You will act as the face and voice of 1906 for the market
  • Understand all 1906 products and be able to clearly communicate this information to others
  • Maintain relationships with key accounts in territory to increase volume, and maximize their revenue and value received
  • Collaborate with sales, visual merchandising, customer success, and marketing in a cross-functional partnership to achieve success
  • Set and accomplish clear daily & monthly goals
  • Scout for expanded visual merchandising opportunities in dispensaries
  • Track sales KPI’s (Wholesale sales, brand ranking, out of stocks, top performers) to develop action-oriented store visit agendas to accelerate sales velocity.
  • Update dispensary information in the CRM database during and after interactions
  • Juggle conflicting priorities and tasks using strong time management skills
  • Approach every encounter as an opportunity to promote the brand’s mission
  • Offer a customer oriented approach rooted in passion for benefitting peoples' lives with 1906 products
  • Manage brand ambassador team to execute pop-ups, budtender educations, and community engagement events
  • Actively participate and support broader event activations on-site as needed

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Minimum 5 years experience developing and driving sales and marketing strategies in retail channels. CPG experience in beauty, food and beverage, fashion or beer/wine/spirits. District Merchant level experience with a large format retailer.    
  • Effective negotiation, communication, and organizational skills with an analytical approach to identifying opportunities.
  • Engaging, outgoing, approachable personality.
  • Reliable, self-starter and team player, able to work independently/remotely and manage own schedule.
  • Ability to travel within Massachusetts using your own vehicle.  
  • Availability to work weekends. This role is a full-time salaried position with weekend work required to successfully facilitate events and in-store pop-ups.
  • Highly proficient in the use of Google Suite (Drive, Docs, Spreadsheets, etc) and other common computer applications such as Slack, IG, LinkedIn.
  • Full Omni-channel mentality, customer-centric background.
  • Ability to establish positive working relationships with cross-functional teams, brand leadership, global and retailer partners.
  • Attention to detail, customer-service orientation, and creativity in problem-solving.
  • Age 21+ 

ADDITIONAL PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Sales, Business, Communications or a related field

  • Base salary range from $80,000 to $120,000; commensurate with experience. Plus annual bonus potential per Company’s direction/performance.
